What it gives

Steps

  1. Lungs and Large Intestine75 s

Standing, thumbs hooked behind your back: on the inhale open the chest, on the exhale bend forward, the arms rising up behind the back.

  2. Stomach and Spleen75 s

Sitting on your heels (or in a lunge), gently lean back with support on your palms, stretching the front of the thighs and the belly.

  3. Heart and Small Intestine75 s

Seated, feet together, knees out to the sides (“butterfly”). A light forward bend with a straight back, elbows gently pressing on the shins.

  4. Bladder and Kidney75 s

Seated, legs extended forward: bend toward the legs with a long spine, the whole back line stretches.

  5. Pericardium and Triple Burner75 s

Sitting cross-legged, arms crossed and embracing the knees with the opposite palms: bend forward, rounding the upper back.

  6. Liver and Gallbladder75 s

Seated, legs wide: a sideways bend toward one leg, the arm reaching overhead, opening the side line. Alternate to both sides.

Caution

Stretch to a light tension, not to pain. If you have back problems, reduce the bends.
