Meridian

Stomach meridian

Location

In the inguinal region, 5 cun inferior to the centre of the umbilicus and 2 cun lateral to the anterior median line, at the level of the superior border of the pubic symphysis, over the femoral artery.

What it helps with

Heaviness and tightness in the groin, lower abdominal discomfort, a stagnant feeling in the pelvis after long sitting.

How to work on it

Rest the palm on the inguinal crease and hold gentle warmth for 30-60 seconds; if working the point directly, use only a very light touch.

Caution

Do not use during pregnancy. The femoral artery runs beneath: do not press into it and move aside if you feel a pulse; lymph nodes sit in the groin — leave the point alone if they are swollen.
