Large Intestine meridian
In the anterior region of the neck, at the level of the inferior border of the thyroid cartilage, just posterior to the posterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. About 1 B-cun inferior to LI18 (Futu).
Gently supports a lump-like or scratchy feeling in the throat, hoarseness and tension in the side muscles of the neck.
To find the muscle, turn the head to the opposite side, then let the neck relax. Press very lightly and superficially with one fingertip for 20-30 seconds, working only one side at a time.
Large vessels and the carotid reflex zone lie in the side of the neck: no strong or prolonged pressure, and never both sides at once. Stop immediately if you feel dizzy or faint. Do not use with neck-vessel disease, heart-rhythm disorders, or enlarged or tender lymph nodes - see a doctor first.
