In front of the ear, where the horizontal line through the ear apex meets the posterior border of the temporal hairline.
Temporal headache, stiffness and pain on chewing, gum pain.
Finger-pad pressure for 30–45 seconds with the jaw relaxed.
The temporal bone is thin and the superficial temporal artery runs just under the skin: use gentle pressure only, and shift half a centimetre if you feel a pulse under your finger.
