Location

In the lumbar region, on the posterior median line, in the depression inferior to the spinous process of the fourth lumbar vertebra (L4), level with the highest points of the iliac crests.

What it helps with

Stiff, tired lower back by evening, heaviness low in the back after long standing or sitting, a feeling of weak legs.

How to work on it

Press gently with both thumbs into the depression below the spinous process for 30-60 seconds, then rub the lower back warm with the palms for 1 minute.

Caution

Lower lumbar area right next to the sacrum: do not use during pregnancy. See a doctor for sharp pain shooting into the leg or numbness.
